Since it uses a Micro-USB cable similar to regular smartphones, you can also charge it in the car with a standard USB adapter. Doing so aligns the speakers with respect to your ears so you can hear stereo separation, something the Charge 3, along with almost all similar products, lacks. When the light turns solid blue, it means that the speaker’s battery is fully charged and should be unplugged from the mains. For longer battery life, it is recommended that the battery be allowed to fully charge before use. Along the front edge of that flat area is a five-LED battery charge indicator, which you can see best in the image below. Inside the retail box you’ll find the JBL Charge 3, 5V 2.3A USB power adapter, micro USB cable, and device documentation (quick start guide, safety and warranty cards). The JBL Charge 3 power bank speaker has a cluster of LEDs across its bottom front panel, as shown in the images below. We strongly advise trying out the JBL Charge 3 if you live near a Target store in the US. If I have any real complaints about the Charge 3, it’s the really weak documentation supplied by JBL, or whoever is manufacturing it for them.
